Claire is a corporate partner and deputy head of the firm’s Milton Keynes office. She has extensive experience advising a range of clients, including private equity investors, large corporates, management teams and owner managers on domestic and cross border private equity and M&A transactions.

Her transactional experience spans a wide range of sectors and she has developed particular expertise working with businesses in healthcare and technology. Her recent experience includes advising:

  •  Five Arrows (private equity arm of Rothschild & Co) on the acquisition of the majority stake in Mintec Global, provider of food commodity price data and market intelligence and Five Arrows’ co-investment alongside Synova.
  • Cambridge University Press and Assessment on the acquisition of Cogbooks, an online technology company with subsidiaries in the US and India which specialises in adaptive courseware.
  • Five Arrows on the acquisition of the Irish based Texthelp Group (an online literacy and language solution) and its subsequent acquisitions of Danish base Wizkids and US based Don Johnston.
  • Servelec Limited on their acquisition of Elemental, a Northern Irish social prescribing software company.
  •  Opus 2 (a UK based legal software company and investee company of Five Arrows Principal Investments) on its acquisition of UK based, Bar Squared and subsequently advising Five Arrows and other sellers of Opus 2 on the exit of Opus 2 to Astorg.
  • Downing LLP on its investment and buy and build strategy to form Magnus Care Group Downing’s subsequent exit.
  • Five Arrows on the acquisition of Sygnature Discovery, a drug discovery service.

Claire joined Shoosmiths in 2012. She completed her training contract and qualified in 2009 at BPE Solicitors in Cheltenham.
