I lead the Scottish planning and environmental team at Shoosmiths, driving results for clients in housebuilding, retail, commercial and industrial development, energy, and major infrastructure sectors. With a strong background in contentious matters, I expertly guide clients through planning appeals, public inquiries, judicial reviews, Lands Tribunal compensation claims, and Sheriff Court actions.

At the forefront of both contentious and non-contentious planning, environmental, and infrastructure work, I provide strategic advice to a diverse range of public and private sector clients. Developers trust my expertise for matters including site promotion, development plans, planning applications, agreements, compulsory purchase, consenting strategies, and navigating environmental challenges. My experience is further enhanced by in-house secondments with a leading electricity network operator and a global renewable energy developer.

As an active member of the Scottish Property Federation's Planning and Development Committee and recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers rankings, I am known for delivering pragmatic solutions to complex legal challenges. I also take the lead on ESG initiatives and, in 2024, was named a Distinguished Adviser in ESG by Financier Worldwide.
