Winners are chosen based on feedback from over 2,000 trainees and junior lawyers in the annual Legal Cheek Trainee and Junior Lawyer Survey. Being awarded Best Law Firm for Peer Support underlines Shoosmiths' dedication to employee well-being and its efforts to create a culture where colleagues feel encouraged and empowered to learn from and support one another.

"Strong peer support translates to a stronger team, and ultimately, that translates to better client service," said Samantha Hope, Shoosmiths' emerging talent manager. "This award signifies our commitment to building a collaborative environment where everyone feels empowered to be themselves and support others. It truly belongs to all of our amazing colleagues who create such a supportive and encouraging environment for one another."

Shoosmiths trainees praised the firm's approachable supervisors and open culture, with one trainee stating, "My peers are amazing – we are happy to pull together at any moment. I can genuinely say that they are brilliant friends as well as colleagues."

Shoosmiths offers a range of programs to promote peer support, including a strong emphasis on collaboration, the STAR program for peer recognition, and a Shadow Board offering colleagues a chance to contribute to strategic decisions. These efforts, coupled with the firm's core value of ‘being yourself’ contribute to a positive and rewarding work experience for all Shoosmiths employees.
