This article supports what we are seeing happening in the current housing market. Although some are withdrawing from selling or buying properties, more are placing their transactions on hold until they are physically able to move home.
Under the current lockdown, people are not able to conclude a house purchase with surveyors not able to obtain a survey for them and removal companies not able to physically move belongings.
My experience is that people are simply placing their moves on hold and ultimately do want to proceed with them. Commonly, clients ask us to progress transactions for them as far as we are able to, so that they can swiftly complete once the pause resumes and chains of people are no longer in lockdown.
