Wholesale financial services expert Sam Tyfield is the latest partner recruited to UK law firm Shoosmiths’ corporate team.
Sam, who has a wealth of experience as a corporate lawyer at both large international firms and a trading company, is an expert in the rules and regulations governing the wholesale financial services sector.

His is a key appointment in the firm’s ambitious strategy for its corporate division, which is aiming to double in revenue by 2022. His appointment will focus in particular on developing Shoosmiths’ increasingly international relationships with both brokers and trading firms.

Sam moves to Shoosmiths from US firm Vedder Price and previously gained considerable private equity and cross-border M&A experience with other American law firms in London. He was also the chief operating officer and general counsel at a proprietary trading firm, Automat.
Sam advises operational, compliance and general counsel level at principal trading firms, alternative investment fund managers and investment banks. He focuses on applicable financial services regulations and rules on day-to-day business and strategic planning, as well as advising on M&A and group structuring, employment, intellectual property, technology and commercial litigation.
