London, 1 July 2024 – Shoosmiths is pleased to announce that Adam Lambert has joined the firm as partner to lead the growth of its London employment law practice.
Adam brings nearly 30 years’ experience across a breadth of sectors – covering financial and professional services, technology, publishing, hospitality, manufacturing, commodities, education, media, and real estate – to the firm.
He advises domestic and international clients on all aspects of the employment relationship, including defending tribunal claims, internal investigations, regulatory issues, boardroom disputes, large-scale redundancies, and complex TUPE transactions, as well as sensitive HR issues, such as discrimination, disciplinary proceedings, grievances, whistleblowing, and sickness absence. His practice also supports global businesses with non-UK ownership, for which he often acts as the UK client manager, ensuring service delivery of both HR and other corporate matters.
Adam comes to Shoosmiths from BCLP, where he was head of the UK Employment & Labor group. Adam trained in Manchester and moved to London on qualifying.
Adam is recognised as a leader in the field by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. He is also a lecturer for the Employment Lawyers’ Association and was a regular speaker at its annual TUPE conference for over a decade. Last year Adam chaired an international panel on mental health in the workplace at the European Employment Lawyers' Association conference in Bucharest.
“Shoosmiths represents an exciting opportunity to grow a London Employment practice at a forward-looking, dynamic firm,” Adam said. “I look forward to contributing to the national and London team’s continued success and leveraging my cross-sector expertise to provide solutions to the employment-related challenges of our clients’ businesses.”
Paul Stokey, head of Employment at Shoosmiths, said, “Adam is perfectly placed to expand and deepen our London presence, a priority area for the firm. Adam’s expertise in both day-to-day labour issues and intricate investigations, discrimination cases and regulatory matters, combined with his global experience, will give our clients the insights and advice they need as employment law shifts and evolves. We’re thrilled he is joining our team.”
