Shoosmiths advise ScaleUp Capital on major investment duo

Law firm Shoosmiths has advised private equity house ScaleUp Capital on its recent investments into Action Sustainability and Verto.

Action Sustainability is a leading tech-enabled sustainability business in the construction sector, providing collaboration tools, e-learning, software and consulting services. Founded with a mission to drive sustainable practices through education and technology, Action Sustainability has established itself as a sustainability pioneer in the built environment sector.

Verto’s software enables public sector organisations to manage complex projects with clarity and control, assess risks from both cost and timeline perspectives, and deliver transparent progress reporting. It supports over 120 UK public sector clients, including NHS bodies, central government departments and local authorities.

The Shoosmiths team was led by corporate partner Dan Shilvock, principal associate Lisa Faragher, senior associate Molly Vandervell and associates Jess Lockett and Olivia Ashcroft.

ScaleUp deal leads Michael Allen and David Sparrow commented: “These are two very exciting investments for ScaleUp which we look forward to supporting on the next stage of the growth journey – central to what ScaleUp delivers. We’ve really enjoyed working with the Shoosmiths team on these transactions and look forward to continuing our work together and growing the relationship further”.

Dan Shilvock, corporate partner at Shoosmiths and ScaleUp client partner added: “It was a pleasure to support ScaleUp on these two investments and we look forward to seeing them develop over its next stage of growth. The tight deadlines required both the hard work and expertise of our team – focussing on what matters to ensure completion could occur in tight timeframes. We are very proud to be legal advisors for ScaleUp and are looking forward to continuing that relationship and working on future deals together.”
