Shoosmiths crowned ‘Law Firm of the Year’

Shoosmiths scooped the prestigious award for Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards in London last night.

The firm was also shortlisted for Legal Technology Team of the Year for its AI Contract review platform, Cia®, after winning the award the previous year.

Shoosmiths was shortlisted alongside six other firms, Allen & Overy, Bird & Bird, gunnercooke, Latham & Watkins, RPC and Reed Smith.

Judges praised the firm’s achievements over the last couple of years with a submission which demonstrated the firm had developed in a way that has brought real benefit to clients, colleagues and the communities the firm operates in. Among the achievements listed in the submission were an impressive set of financial results, the launch of a new Connected Services proposition (Shoosmiths EIGHT Connected Services), opening an office in Brussels - its first outside the UK. It also emphasised the strides the firm has made with its ESG agenda with the launch of the Shoosmiths Foundation (which has already made grants of £90000 for charities with a focus on social mobility), and the transformation of its real estate strategy, with office announcements, including the opening of a state-of-the-art office in the heart of the City of London.

Collecting the award on behalf of the firm, David Jackson, CEO at Shoosmiths, said:

“This win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the many talented and innovative people across our business and our collective pursuit of excellence.

“Listening to our clients and being able to further anticipate their needs is what sets us apart from our competitors. Our focus on what we do well, and our commitment to doing it even better, means we go above and beyond to deliver excellence for ourselves and our clients.

“I’m beyond proud that so many people across our business are involved in the ongoing development of our firm, including new and existing products across our divisions and sectors.”
