Shoosmiths is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Dunkley as a partner in its Corporate Restructuring & Advisory (CR&A) team. Jonathan is based in Shoosmiths’ London office, where he will play a key role in enhancing the firm’s CR&A capabilities.
Jonathan joins Shoosmiths from Womble Bond Dickinson, where he led the London Restructuring and Insolvency team. He brings extensive experience in advising lenders, insolvency practitioners, underperforming companies, creditors, and purchasers on a broad range of insolvency matters, with a particular focus on corporate insolvency transactions. He has a proven track record in guiding clients through the complexities of insolvency, from initial contingency planning to the implementation of insolvency processes and delivering successful outcomes, whether through transactions, continued trading, or managed closures.
Jonathan’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth for Shoosmiths’ CR&A department, recognised as one of the leading mid-market U.K. restructuring teams. The department consists of 20-plus lawyers, operating out of Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and London.
The addition of Jonathan supports Shoosmiths’ strategy to further strengthen its presence in London. His leadership and deep industry knowledge will be instrumental in driving the continued growth and success of the CR&A team.
James Keates, national head of Shoosmiths’ CR&A team, said, “Jonathan’s invaluable experience, particularly, with lenders and private equity clients will complement our current offering and help us to build and strengthen our relationships in a targeted growth area. We are committed to expanding our footprint in London and across the UK, and Jonathan’s arrival marks an important step in that journey.”
Jonathan said, “I am delighted to be joining a firm with such a strong reputation in the restructuring and advisory sector. Shoosmiths’ CR&A team is known for its exceptional work, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and success.”
