Shoosmiths named top M&A legal advisor in the UK

The corporate team at law firm Shoosmiths has been named as the most active merger and acquisitions (M&A) law firm in the UK in 2023, according to Experian MarketIQ rankings. 

Shoosmiths’ London corporate team were also named as the most active M&A law firm in London in 2023, and the corporate division also ranked first in the east of England. The impressive placing follows a record-breaking period for the firm’s M&A experts, advising on over £7 billion worth of deals in 2023 alone. Its team has bolstered its market leading credentials and reputation for excellence in the mid-market, advising on upwards of 400 transactions a year across its corporate division. 

Despite Experian noting a decrease in the total number of transactions in the UK last year, down 12%, Shoosmiths remained active within areas of deal making growth – including the technology, energy and financial services sectors.
