Peter Williams, head of the real estate professional support lawyer (PSL) team at national law firm Shoosmiths, has acted as consultant editor on the updated Volume 87 of Halsbury's Laws of England, which is set for publication at the end of June.
Halsbury's Laws is the only complete narrative statement of the law in England and Wales. The full set currently comprises 150 titles contained in 116 volumes. They are available to subscribers in both hard copy and online.
Peter Williams, said: 'It was a great surprise, but also of course an honour, to be approached to become the consultant editor on this volume of Halsbury's Laws. My role as professional support lawyer here in the real estate group at Shoosmiths means that I am constantly needing to research little-known areas of property law. Editing this volume has certainly increased my knowledge of the many complex topics contained in it.'
Simon Boss, head of the real estate practice group at Shoosmiths, added: 'Peter is a well-known figure in the legal industry and his technical knowledge of property and land registration law can only be described as encyclopaedic. It really is a testament to Peter and his knowledge that he was seen as the go-to person to act as consultant editor on this work.'
Shoosmiths' real estate group is one of the largest in the UK, made up of teams advising on real estate, construction, planning, property litigation and environmental issues.
Shoosmiths' clients include commercial and residential developers, investors, retail and leisure operators, social housing bodies, major corporates occupiers, banks and other funders and a range of public sector bodies.
