Adam's practice covers a broad range of sectors including financial, legal and other professional services, technology, publishing, hospitality, manufacturing, commodities, education, media and real estate. 
 
As well as the broad sector experience, Adam has maintained and developed an expertise that handles all employment issues. As examples, he acts for businesses in defending complex tribunal claims. He conducts and advises on investigations, often in a regulated sector. He manages boardroom disputes. He assists businesses with large scale redundancies. He guides businesses through highly sensitive HR issues, often with a view to avoiding disputes but leaving the businesses in the best place should a dispute arise.
 
He advises on the employment issues arising out of outsourcing and sales of businesses and, having lectured at the Employment Lawyers' Association TUPE conference for over a decade, is a recognised expert in the operation of TUPE.
 
Many of his clients are global businesses with non-UK ownership and his role with such clients goes beyond just being an employment law adviser but also involves being a signpost for help in other areas. Adam works alongside colleagues in other those areas such as experts in data privacy, company law, M&As, commercial contracts, pensions, incentives, real estate and regulatory issues. 
 
Adam's advisory and litigation work includes handling whistleblowing and discrimination cases. He has developed particular expertise in disability discrimination cases, often concerning mental health and diversity issues. He has chaired an international panel of experts in mental health issues at a conference of the European Employment Lawyers' Association. Adam also advises on partnership issues, including the operation of members' agreements in LLP and handling tribunal claims by partners.

  • defending businesses in cases where claimants have alleged that they had autism and/or ADHD and that they had suffered discrimination as a consequence
  • defending multi-claimant cases concerning holiday pay
  • guiding boards of directors through disciplinary procedures concerning other board members, including addressing the corporate governance issues
  • advising on collective redundancy obligations for service providers with employees working on multiple sites 
  • advising professional services LLPs on disputes with members, including claims of fraud where regulators have been involved
  • investigating allegations of substance abuse by regulated employees
  • advising on allegations of sexual harassment by members of LLPs
