Charis is an Associate in the Nottingham Employment Team. She advises clients across a variety of sectors on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
Charis’ recent experience includes:
- defending Employment Tribunal proceedings, including unfair dismissal, unlawful deductions from wages and discrimination claims;
- advising organisations on day-to-day employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and sickness absences;
- assisting with corporate due diligence exercises and advising on the employment law aspects of national and international corporate sales, acquisitions and investments;
- drafting and reviewing employment contracts, service agreements, consultancy agreements and internal policies and procedures for a range of organisations;
- assisting organisations with managing redundancy exercises, including a complex restructure of a large telecommunications company;
- drafting and negotiating settlement agreements on behalf of both employers and individuals; and
- employee data protection matters, including assisting clients with managing data subject access requests.
Charis sits on the Nottingham office’s Charity Committee and Social Committee and has been involved in organising a range of events for the wider office. As well as this, she frequently writes articles, legal updates and comments on behalf of the firm.
Charis is also an active member of the firm’s Balance Network Committee, something which she is particularly passionate about. The network aims to promote gender balance and champion all women to ensure they are able to navigate both career specific and other life challenges.
Charis trained at Shoosmiths and qualified as a solicitor in September 2022.
