Employment associate supporting clients through complex workplace issues
As an Associate in Shoosmiths’ Employment team in Scotland, I advise employers and individuals on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. I support clients with complex employment tribunal litigation, including a mass equal pay and trade union blacklisting case, and I regularly represent clients throughout the tribunal process, from advising at the inception of a claim to conducting the advocacy at the final hearing. I am passionate about providing accessible and pragmatic advice, helping clients manage conduct issues and absence, navigating employee exits, and offering strategic solutions on tricky areas such as employment status and restrictive covenants. I am also well versed in drafting contracts, policies, and delivering training.
I have a keen interest in pro bono work, providing legal advice through Strathclyde’s Law Clinic, and mentoring future solicitors through the GROW mentoring scheme. I am also an active member of the firm's Social Mobility working group and Charity Committee, and regularly write on employment law topics, including the impact of AI and developments in discrimination law.
