Jen is a legal director in our corporate division, based in the Edinburgh office.  She has extensive experience advising a range of clients, including investors, large corporates, management teams and owner managers on domestic and cross border venture capital, private equity and M&A transactions.
 
Jen acts for clients across a wide range of sectors and has developed particular expertise working with businesses in the healthcare, energy, hospitality, transport and technology sectors.
 
Jen's transactional experience includes advising:
  • an AIM listed company on the sale of its interest in a fixed wireless broadband provider to a Canadian headquartered private equity firm, in a deal that valued the business at up to £92m;
  • the shareholders of Operatix Limited and Operatix Inc on their sale to memoryBlue LLC and memoryBlue Bidco Limited in a transaction that created a global leader in sales acceleration services for the B2B technology ecosystem;
  • Foresight on its investment into Firefish Software Limited, a CRM and marketing software platform focused in the recruitment sector; and
  • the shareholders of Artificial Lift Performance Limited, Artificial Lift Performance LLC and Artificial Lift Performance Inc on their sale to US corporate Champion X.
Jen trained at Shoosmiths (then Archibald Campbell & Harley), qualifying in 2011.  Jen left in April 2020 to join Shepherd & Wedderburn LLP and re-joined Shoosmiths in September 2022.
 
Jen was named 'Up & Coming Lawyer of the Year' at the Law Awards of Scotland 2016 and 'Corporate Rising Star of the Year' at the Legal 500 Scotland Awards 2024.
