Lee is a specialist planning lawyer. She has over 26 years' planning experience advising private and public sector clients on a wide variety of projects including residential, retail, windfarms and mixed use developments. She has secured planning permissions following completion of planning agreements, secured the inclusion of sites in development plans,  successfully appealed against refusal of planning permission, represented parties at planning inquiries and advised minerals operators.
 
Lee has in-house experience, having been a legal manager for eleven years with South Lanarkshire Council, until 2007 when she joined the private legal sector.  As a council legal manager she led teams advising on planning, environmental and regeneration, roads and transportation, property disposals, land assembly and procurement matters.
 
Her more recent experience includes: 
  • advising housebuilders on the negotiation and completion of planning agreements to enable release of planning permission;
  • advising public bodies on all aspects of planning law;
  • contributing to due diligence exercises for funders and potential purchasers;
  • acting for local authorities and private clients in connection with planning agreements relating to mixed use developments comprising retail, hotel, student accommodation and BTR elements.
Lee is an Affiliate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and previously served on the Planning Committee of the Law Society of Scotland.
