Neale Christy is a Trade Mark Attorney in the Intellectual Property team, based in the firm's London office. He acts for clients across a broad range of sectors, but is especially well-known in the entertainment and consumer technology industries. 

He joined Shoosmiths in 2025 from Locke Lord, where he was responsible for protecting the trade mark interests of several blue chip clients. His practice focuses on trade mark oppositions and cancellations, trade mark infringement disputes, domain name complaints, advertising complaints and copyright infringement. He specialises in resolving disputes, especially those to do with brand exploitation, and boasts extensive legal experience across Africa, Australasia and the USA, as well as in Europe and the UK.

Neale has written articles for the World Trademark Review, the Trademark Lawyer Magazine, Lexology and Polity.  

Neale graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2011 with an LLB degree and obtained his LLM from the same university in 2013. He is passionate about the intersection between brand recognition and technology, which has led to him acquiring a sizeable collection of gadgets. In his spare time, Neale can be found watching cricket at his local club in the Surrey hills.
