Seonaid joined Shoosmiths in May 2024 as a senior associate in our dispute resolution and litigation team based in Edinburgh, having been at her previous firm for almost two decades. Since qualifying in 2010, Seonaid has acted for a range of clients including financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, local authorities and other public bodies, private clients and SMEs. Seonaid’s practice covers a broad range of commercial litigation, including professional negligence claims, contractual disputes and property disputes, but she has a particular focus on and expertise in financial and contentious insolvency litigation.  

Seonaid provides clients with straightforward, pragmatic advice. She appears in court on behalf of clients and can assist with other forms alternative dispute resolution, as well as providing strategic advice in advance of formal disputes arising.
 
Recent examples of her work include dealing with a complex partnership dispute, involving a Court of Session petition to appoint a judicial factor, several contentious personal insolvency cases, a football club shareholder dispute and acting for joint liquidators in relation to a number of potential litigations.
