Tara is a Senior Associate, and is qualified both as a Solicitor and Trade Mark Attorney.  She also qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney in Australia. 

She has worked in private practice and in-house both in the UK and Australia, managing international trade mark portfolios.  This includes clearance searches, filing and prosecuting applications, enforcement and identifying gaps in protection.

Tara advises on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, but with a particular focus on trade mark disputes including oppositions, invalidity and revocation actions, infringement and passing off.

Due to her extensive background in intellectual property, Tara takes a commercial and holistic approach and enjoys getting to know the businesses she works with to understand their particular needs.

Tara's experience includes:

  • international intellectual property portfolio management for clients from start-ups to household names across all sectors including mobility, retail and consumer, energy and infrastructure, financial services and technology. 
  • acting for one of the world's leading automotive manufacturers in the protection and enforcement of its trade marks.    
  • advising a global gaming content and technology company in-house regarding the creation, protection and enforcement of intellectual property, particularly in relation to trade marks, domain names and copyright.
  • conducting an opposition on behalf of a national regulator in a matter involving intellectual property and public safety.
  • successfully defending a design right infringement claim for an international retailer.
  • undertaking trade mark audits for clients including for a large well-known international fashion brand.
